Angiuli Donato
We are proud feature Vinalia’s first Italian producer! Angiuli Donato is a family owned and operated winery since 1880. It is in Gioia del Colle in Puglia (the heel of Italy’s boot), best known for its powerful red wines made from Primitivo. Angiuli Donato produces terroir-driven wines from local varieties, such as Negroamaro, Nero di Troia, Maresco and Primitivo that thrive in this hot Mediterranean climate.

Today, the winery is run by the third-generation Donato Angiuli and his two sons, Vito and Giuseppe who farm around 21 hectares of vineyards. The winery produces wines in the Angiuli Donato, Adelphos and Maccone ranges. Maccone represents their pinnacle and is named after a former beloved vineyard manager and cellarmaster.
Maccone Maresco Bianco
Maresco is a rare indigenous white variety given a new lease of life by Angiuli Donato. Unusually, for this warm climate, Maresco retains high acidity resulting in highly gastronomic wines. The 50–80-year-old vines are planted on calcerous loamy soils in the Itria Valley.
The grapes are hand-harvested towards the end of September. Following maceration on the skins for 48 hours to enhance texture and phenolics, the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks. Maturation is also in stainless steel prior to bottling.
